THE KANSAS STREET ALL-STARS
HG: "KSAS was a loose, funky, fast-and-fresh project inspired by the many late night jams at the Kansas Street (San Francisco) apartments of Mike and Suzie Prince, and John Coelho and Jeremy Mendes. A big group of musicians -- the usual suspects -- participated. There was rock, blues, pop, soul, funk. Stones, Meters, Bowie. I contributed two original songs ("Wild Freshness" and "The Wigmaster" - listen below) and did a little bit of everything, from vocals to mandolin to percussion to figuring out the final mix. This was a project made by friends for friends - a celebration of the late night revelry on Kansas Street at the dawn of the 21st Century."
