HG: "It was four years between Residue and the two volumes of Foreverwar. In that time I decided to stop calling myself “The Sleepers” in favor of my own name. My life changed: I moved to New York City, I married my wife, and I began to prioritize my health as I never had before. As a songwriter I was looking ‘out’ more than ‘in’ and I was more focused. The unifying theme? The inevitability of conflict. Four of these songs were originally meant for Charlie Horse, and I am indebted to my four band mates (Jonathan Skolnick, Gary Gettys, Paul Armatta, and Mark Heringer) for their help with arrangements and parts. This record reminds me of some of my favorite late ‘70’s pop-rock, from Cheap Trick to Todd Rundgren to Queen to Fleetwood Mac. Like most creative people, I'm a thief."
