About Harry Scott Green

Harry Scott Green was born and raised in Houston, TX. He started singing in church choirs, and obsessively drawing, at age five. He began playing classical percussion and drum set in the 5th grade, and learned guitar and piano soon after. He holds two degrees (B.F.A. in Studio Art, M.M. in Ethnomusicology) from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was also a seven-time All-American distance runner. He has run in three World Championships, was alternate for the 1988 U.S. Olympic Team in the 10,000 meters, and has raced all over the world. He's conducted ethnomusicological fieldwork in West Africa and toured the US in rock bands. Harry is the founder and owner of Harry Green Design, a multi-disciplinary design firm specializing in brand identity. He also continues to produce original music and art. After long stints in Austin, San Francisco, and New York City, he has settled in the Philadelphia area with his wife, Hannah Buffum Turlish, and their son, Oliver Orwell Turlish Green. Harry has also returned to the world of running, coaching the fine young men and women of Haverford Senior High School.
